How was Afrikavenir born?

Afrikavenir was born from a vision of 4 French students and a Senegalese professor. They were willing to put together their energies and their competencies to help in an efficient and durable way the children and the communities of Senegal.

How do we select the children?

Education is not yet accessible for everyone. Priority is given to the children somehow related with the actors of the project, such as the sons or daughters of the masons, electricians, workmen, professors, gardeners, farmers and drivers.

Why doesn’t the government pay for the professors?

The Senegalese Ministry of Education will compensate the professors when a third class will be built. The number of registered children will then allow us to ask the government to take care of the salaries for the professors and the director.

What investments are needed for the school to be self-sufficient and self-financing?

We still have to build a third class to get more students and therefore a financial help from the government; moreover, we need to acquire more stockers (chickens, rabbits and sheeps) and more material (machinery, tools …) to optimize the revenues of the farm.
